Sierra Club Canada Foundation – Atlantic Chapter is searching for an outgoing, energetic, and dedicated individual to carry out tasks associated with our Watch for Wildlife program (www.watchforwildlife.ca). This position will be based in Colchester County, Nova Scotia.

There are few species in Nova Scotia that drivers haven't crushed with their tires, bludgeoned with their bumpers or walloped with their windshields.
Snapping turtles, bald eagles and even bobcats and bears have all been felled by the automobile — and some species are feeling the strain on their population.

We are looking for someone magical with children to help deliver Wild Child Forest School Programming for the summer in the Halifax areas of Bedford and Grand Lake/Oakfield for our 2017 Summer Season. Our ideal candidate would love being outside in all weathers, enjoy playing & supervising children, with an eye for safety and risk management.

This position will be based out of the Eskasoni Fish and Wildlife Commission, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Ian Murray is kindly letting us use his award winning image of 'Mom' and kit for Watch for Widlife collision prevention awareness. Ian is a photographer from Wallace, NS. Mom (who was actually a dad) was killed by a car (story below, by CBC). Mom is the new face of wildlife vehicle collsion prevention in Nova Scotia. In memory of 'Mom', we will try harder to reduce their injury and deaths on our roads.

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated individual to coordinate programs and volunteers in the Atlantic Canada Chapter of Sierra Club Canada Foundation. This is a three month position with an option to renew, depending on performance and outcomes. You will be working closely with the National Program Director (based in Halifax) and take direction from the Atlantic Canada Executive Committee.

Inspired by my father's love of fishing, swimming, and camping in the Birch Cove area near Halifax, I became interested in all things watery and wild. But to date I have not touched the water of Halifax Harbour, in the city where I was raised and choose to live.

Halifax Diverse has been active in urban environmental stewardship for four years and we understand the importance of a healthy urban forest to thriving cities. With the upcoming municipal election (online now and at the polls on October 15), we wanted to find out if all candidates plan to be good urban forest stewards.
